"Finding solitude in the concrete jungle is powerful and peaceful."
~ Mike Dolan
Another of those picturesque lavender dusks. A sight so familiar, but still a novelty each time it happens. A bustling Friday traffic roars under the balmy pink-orange spread of the sky. Lights and buildings. Buildings and lights. The city blurs into a distance in my mind and ceases to be. A blissful solitude embraces me quietly. Let the weekend begin!
Such a beautiful sunset. Because of the large trees around Pondside we rarely see the sunset. I like to go down to the beach from time to time to watch it.
ReplyDeleteSolitude - funny you should write about it. I have thought a lot about solitude and about peace as I have gone about my work this week in places that resemble Bedlam. Some people manage to find solitude in the chaos but many don't. I can see what a difference it makes.
Summers, howsoever cruel here, have their own charm, and these fiery sunsets are one of them. This picture was taken from the 9th floor of a hotel room; our apartment surrounded by a dozen more towering communities shields any kind of nature from us.
DeleteHope you got a weekend full of peace and some of that cedar-dipped, leaf-green, pond-side happiness. Have a great week!
Hello Suman
ReplyDeleteThe image is tranquil and peaceful and I wish you a weekend of joy

Thank you, Helen. Hope you are having a great week there!
DeleteDear Suman,
ReplyDeleteI love the picture. The colour is wonderful. It's India...
Solitude.. It's weird because it's difficult to find it in a concrete jungle but, at the same time, we are lonelier . More people but without real bonds between them.
How beautifully you've said it, the predicament of modern living. Thank you for appreciating the picture; I know how much it appeals to you. :-)
