Cloud burst

"The clouds, - the only birds that never sleep."

~ Victor Hugo

For a sky that otherwise looks engulfed in smoke and haggard from the tiresome, monotonous rants of its earth-side denizens, this seemed a fine enough spectacle. Fluff after fluff of sheer bliss it was. An azure carpet strung together with pearly, white beads. Uncountable hopeful smiles floating together in a joyous vacuum. A surreal world, peaceful and true, spreadeagled over a haphazardly stacked chaos of cold concrete. See it whichever way you would, it felt too good be true.
Some other positive signs that this surprising cloud burst brought forth - a cool morning breeze and the news of the first monsoon showers that further signal the fast approaching end of the tyrannous summer. Bring on those big, fat drops now!

  2. Hello Suman:
We can well imagine how, after the intense heat, you so long for the monsoon rains which must serve to refresh the entire land.

    Kellemes hétvégét.

    1. Thank you, dear Jane and Lance; it was an eventful weekend, if not a monsoon-y one. :-) We are all waiting, with our eyes pinned on the sky and its signs.

  3. Will you go out, like a child, and lift your face to the first drops?
We are in the beginning days of the typical Pacific Northwest non-summer....rain, cold, rain, cloud, cold, rain, mist.....

    1. Hello dear, it feels great to have you back. I am so glad the wedding went well.
Yes, I am waiting for it! One must let the child inside out once in a while and what better than the first shower of monsoons.
Isn't it a bit early for the foggy chill to set in? I thought June-August was pure sunshiny bliss. Whatever the weather, I miss the place dearly.

  4. The clouds and sky create an interesting pattern, a sky dance. Rain is sometimes is a wonderful way to refresh, I like to stand in the rain and get soaked (not often) but it is somehow soothing. A good weekend to you. Cheers.

    1. 'Sky dance' it is! I agree, absolutely. Getting soaked can be quite a stirring experience; one feels alive in many different ways.
Hope your weekend was a good one too.

    1. Isn't it?! But you've seen far more merrier skies than this and might I add, I'm always envious of your solitary walks. :)

  7. Hello Suman. Through your eyes, a cloudy sky can be beautiful !!!! Maybe it’s the role of art.

    1. Celine, how you always flatter me! Thanks a lot for your kind words. I would say it's the clouds; if they weren't dancing so teasingly that morning, I wouldn't have even noticed the sky!
